museío leipsydrías (anthropocene museum)
The narration begins with water and non-water, with the presence of water and its absence. In other words, the issue of drought, the cracked land and the ability of water to declare its absence are raised.
For the separation of the plot, the Voronoi diagram is applied with absolute mathematical accuracy. As a result, one surface is divided into 48 areas (cells).
In terms of the surrounding area, attention was paid to materialities (soil, barren land). The cracks that have been created from Voronoi are either paths or serve as skylights above the building. These areas include the parking lot, the building, the outdoor landscaping and the planting.
The museum is organized on two levels. A reception area, permanent and periodical exhibitions, a workshop room, a lectures hall, administration offices, and auxiliary spaces are included in the program.
Each cell is, in a way, an independent volume that is a separate room. In other words, the feeling is given that the building is a piece that breaks into individual pieces, but still connected through the cracks. More specifically, in the interior there are sloping levels, both on the floor and on the roof, which create a spatial experience that is consistent with the installation on display.
